With All My Heart
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
6 Seek his will in all you do ,and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT
Years ago, my grandmother taught me this verse. It is one verse that echoes in my mind often. “Trust in the Lord” when I am worried, when there are unknowns, when the kids are sick, when I feel fear…” This morning, I was reminded to focus on the rest of this sentence. With all my heart- trust not just a little bit, or the things that are easy to trust Him with. Trust Him with all my heart.
To trust with an entire heart, we must remember that He is good, that He loves us unconditionally, that He has great things for us, and that His heart is for us. If we remember this, we can trust Him.
Do I trust God with all my heart? What do I resist trusting Him with? What do I fear? What worry do I nurture? What anxiety swirls in my mind? That thought or worry that lingers might be the one thing that I need to give to Him.
What swirling nagging thought is difficult for me to surrender?
God,
I struggle to trust You completely. Yet, I know Your heart is love and You are good. I give You the part of me that resists, that worries, that questions…Please forgive me for choosing ________ instead of You. I choose to trust You and Your love for me. In Jesus name
